An Electic Music Benefit for
National Veterans Wellness & Healing Center

Festival Eclectica was founded in 2018 in Angel Fire, an idyllic ski village nestled in the Moreno Valley of Northern New Mexico's storied Enchanted Circle.   It is festival of female fronted acts, embracing ALL genres, and hence, NO genres!  From its outset the festival's goal was to not only create an eclectic women-led music event featuring national and regional acts from across the musical landscape, but to give back to the community in a meaningful way - with an event, co-produced with the non-profit, New Mexico-based arts organization Avokado Artists, that expands, enhances and underscores the National Veterans Wellness & Healing Center's mission.

In its inaugural year, Festival Eclectica presented award-winning acts ranging from, Americana to World, Latin to Pop to Zydeco.  Its 2nd edition continued the festival's trajectory with more award-winning acts from the worlds of Blues, Afropop, Folk, Indie Rock and Latin music.  The 2020 edition promises more of the same under the big skies of Angel Fire and with the backdrop of the majestic Sangre de Christo mountains!

What Does the National Veteran's Wellness & Healing Center Do?

The mission of the NVW&HC is to establish an environment that is responsive to the needs of veterans and military families using creative therapies and processes that focus on emotional and physical healing. In 2009, NVW&HC began retreats for veteran families who had been diagnosed with PTS (Post Traumatic Stress).

National Veterans Wellness and Healing Center provides week long retreats for Veterans, Active Duty Military, Reservists, and their significant others who have been diagnosed with PTS. The retreats offer traditional and non-traditional healing methods. Included throughout the week are a mix of Native American healing ceremonies, equine reintegration training, massage, yoga, aroma therapy, acupuncture, art therapy, reiki, along with couples and group counseling sessions. The natural setting of Angel Fire in the Sangre de Cristo mountains is the perfect location to bring couples to a place where nature can assist with the healing process. The number of retreat participant couples are kept small thus making each and every experience and tool which you are provided much more intimate.

NVW&HC continues to operate with private donations, grant funding and with the help of the State of New Mexico. Their focus is to provide tools for those couples that suffer with the Invisible Wounds of War and to assist with the reintegration into their families within their home communities.

Festival Eclectica is a benefit to keep the NVW&HC financially healthy while creating a destination event for the community, region and beyond.
